This is where I demonstrate my lack of practical experience, by trying to suggest how things could be done, looking at this exercises the eyebrow muscles!!
Back in the 1990s, I tested this idea by building a prototype worm bed (Like the one pictured on page 2) that was watered by the rain, so that the runoff could be used on the vegetable garden as a liquid fertilizer. The worm casts can be added to the soil as it is dug over. This idea never got further than the garden, so that is why you have never seen what is described on this page.

This is an old idea circa 1995. Which describes local organic recycling and food production. The concept is a variation on the "Walled Garden" which was a favorite in the nineteenth century. This is a bit bigger but the principles are the same.
